This Cookie Policy explains how Getcars s.r.o. uses cookies and similar technologies on GetCars websites and applications (controller details: see our Privacy Policy).
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser or device. They help recognise your browser, remember settings, maintain sign-in or measure traffic. We may also use local storage, session storage or similar technologies for comparable purposes.
2. Categories we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
Required for Platform operation – e.g. interface language, authentication security, session verification, abuse protection. Legal basis: legitimate interests / contract performance. Disabling these breaks core functionality.
- session and authentication (including cross-domain sign-in cookies on getcars.cz properties);
- security and CSRF tokens;
- locale preference storage;
- cookie consent choice (
gc_consent_v1).
2.2 Functional
Enhanced features (e.g. dashboard preferences). Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests depending on the tool.
2.3 Analytics / statistics
Traffic measurement and Platform improvement (Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager). Legal basis: consent given in the cookie banner. Analytics cookies are not set without consent (Consent Mode v2 – default denied).
2.4 Marketing
Used for Google Ads conversion measurement, remarketing and ad personalisation. Legal basis: explicit consent in the cookie banner. Marketing cookies are not set without consent; Consent Mode may still allow Google to use modelled (aggregated) data.
2.5 Third-party cookies (Google)
Tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager. Google sets the cookies below only after you consent:

3. Storage duration
- session cookies – until the browser is closed;
- persistent cookies – typically 1 day to 13 months depending on purpose;
- authentication cookies – per session and security settings;
- cookie consent choice – 12 months.
4. Third parties
Analytics and advertising are provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads). Google processes data as an independent controller under its own policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Other providers (cloud, hosting) act as processors under contract. An active tool list is available on request at [email protected].
5. Consent management and browser settings
Except for necessary cookies, you grant or refuse consent via the cookie banner. Rejecting optional cookies is as easy as accepting (button on the first screen). Analytics and marketing can be chosen separately. You can change your choice anytime using “Cookie settings” in the site footer — that withdraws or narrows consent.
Most browsers allow blocking or deleting cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or dashboard use.
